New details pane added to Windows 11 File Explorer
Microsoft is slowly updating File Explorer in Windows 11. It started with a new toolbar in the first version and most recently features tabbed navigation. Another change is pending.
Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 23451 is now rolling out to Windows Insider testers in the Dev channel and includes an all-new details pane in File Explorer. It's still accessible with the Alt Shift P keyboard shortcut, but now shows information about recent activity, related files and emails, and a Share button.
Some of these features may only appear for files in OneDrive or other cloud storage services - the blog post wasn't clear about that. In a blog post, Microsoft said, "When a user selects a file in File Explorer and activates a window, contextual information about the file is up-to-date, including file thumbnails, sharing status and buttons, file activity, related files and emails. A window will appear with "Other" information. To activate a pane, select Detail Pane from the View menu and toggle between panes with the easy-to-access buttons on the right side of the command bar.
You can use the command bar's View menu/toggle button in a similar fashion to access the preview window. This modernized panel replaces the old details panel in File Explorer. "
The details pane hasn't changed much since the days of Windows Vista and Windows 7. Better integration with cloud services is nice, but even better file previews are nice.
Microsoft is also testing a new gallery view in File Explorer that displays images from your PC and cloud storage in a convenient timeline.
The details windows 11 is very used full for your pc.
